- Planning Ministers’ Meeting
Members
Members are the state and territory ministers with policy responsibility for housing, homelessness, building and planning.
Housing and Homelessness Ministerial Council
The Housing and Homelessness Ministerial Council provides a forum to improve housing outcomes and reduce homelessness. Its key priorities are to:
- improve housing supply, affordability and accessibility and
- identify pathways out of homelessness.
The Housing and Homelessness Ministerial Council reports to National Cabinet annually on its workplan and progress.
Work with other councils
The Housing and Homelessness Ministerial Council works with the Council on Federal Financial Relations to pursue policy reforms to improve housing affordability and accessibility.

Building Ministers' Meeting
The Building Ministers' Meeting oversees policies that affect Australia’s building and construction industries. It works to:
- harmonise building regulations and standards
- collaborate on compliance and enforcement.
It also sets the strategic direction for the Australian Building Codes Board.

Planning Ministers’ Meeting
The Planning Ministers’ Meeting provides a forum to drive national cooperation on planning matters including:
- planning policy
- land use policy
- housing supply and affordability
- other nationally significant priorities.

The Planning Ministers’ Meeting reports to National Cabinet annually on its workplan and progress.
