  • The taskforce assessed the impact of bank branch closures on regional communities
  • The final report made 7 recommendations to provide a way forward to help improve banking services in regional Australia.

The Regional Banking Taskforce was established to bring banks and other key stakeholders to work together in partnership to:

  • assess how bank branch closures have impacted local businesses, industries and communities
  • identify possible solutions.

The Taskforce held meetings in Sydney, Orange, Mildura and Canberra.
